Our Spiritual Journey with Traditional Andean Medicine begins with your arrival in Cusco. To begin, a representative of Inkayni Peru Tours will wait for you at the airport to transfer you to your respective hotel. Likewise, you will have the rest of the morning to rest and adapt to the altitude, approximately 3400 meters (11,000 ft).
In the afternoon we will visit the Inka Museum, home to thousands of years of Andean culture legacy. What’s more, here we will get acquainted with the origins and beginnings of the Andean civilizations.
Later, we will go to the temple of Qorikancha, the famous temple of the Sun of ancient Qosqo. Certainly this place was and continues to be the pinnacle of the organization, architecture and religion of the Inca civilization.

In the morning we will start our day visiting Sacsayhuamán, considered one of the greatest constructions in the history of mankind. Since this place is a clear example of the magnificent quality of Inca architecture. Immediately afterwards we will continue to the Temple of the Moon, a place of spiritual connection and encounter with the feminine energy of the Moon Goddess.
Here you will have the first opportunity to connect with Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the energies of the Andes where we will also introduce you to the Karpay ritual.
In the afternoon we will travel by bus to the town of Chinchero

The third day will be momentous. At sunrise, we’ll partake in a ceremony with traditional Andean medicine, including the Wachuma, a powerful native cactus known for its spiritual properties. This ceremony, rooted in centuries-old customs, is intended to connect us to the divine energy of the Earth, or Pachamama, fostering a sense of harmony and inner peace.
You’ll have the chance to process the experiences from the Wachuma ceremony, aided by the tranquility of the surrounding Andean landscapes.
After a nutritious breakfast, and continuing with our Spiritual Journey with Traditional Andean Medicine, in the morning we will participate in the introduction and learning of the art of Andean textiles. In addition, this will allow us to know the wisdom of the fabrics that has been maintained since Inca times. Then we will go to Moray, an ancient Inca construction. It is certainly held that Moray was designed for agricultural research and studies of different crops in a range of altitudes and microclimates.
Our last visit will be to the Salineras de Maras, made up of more than 3,000 small wells, with an average surface area of about 5 m². Furthermore, it is considered a very important economic element in Inca times. As well as today it is part of the lifestyle of local families who work there.
In the afternoon we will travel by bus to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo, for our transfer to the town of Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu.

Today we will get up very early for breakfast and then start the ascent to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. We will also be able to appreciate the sunrise in this magical place, considered a masterpiece of Inca architecture and engineering. Today, Machu Picchu is recognized as one of the seven wonders of the world and a world heritage site by UNESCO.
That is why this day we will enjoy the rest of the morning visiting Inca temples, altars and viewpoints.
Optional: The hike to the top of Huayna Picchu, a rigorous ascent that has impressive sites and spectacular views. The round trip is approximately 2 hours, this activity is optional but has an extra charge.
In the afternoon we will return to the train station to board the town of Ollantaytambo and finally Cusco.

Quillarumiyoq, ubicado en el valle de Ankawasi (Casa del Águila), es un antiguo templo dedicado a la Diosa Luna y a la Madre Tierra. También podremos observar comunidades agrícolas rurales, situados en las estribaciones de la cordillera de Salkantay.
Además, un sacerdote andino tradicional, nos acompañará para la ceremonia de “despacho”. Así mismo, tendremos la oportunidad de expresar nuestras oraciones y gratitud a la Pachamama (Madre Tierra) y a los Apus (espíritus guardianes de las montañas).
Esta ceremonia nos permite profundizar nuestras esencias espirituales para liberamos o transformamos toda la energía negativa o pesada. Dicha energía acumulada a través de nuestras experiencias en la vida para luego dar paso a más energía luminosa.
In the morning we will leave the bus terminal heading to the city of Puno. Certainly this is a special bus trip that will allow us to visit many different places along the way on the route of the sun. That is why several stops will be scheduled for us to visit the following places:
Andahuaylillas: In this place we find the temple of the same name, which is also considered as “The Sistine Chapel of America”. What’s more, within its walls, we will find one of the best examples of the fusion between the Catholic and Andean religions.
Raqchi: An Inca temple dedicated to the god Wiracocha, a construction of monumental dimensions, about 100 meters long, 26 wide, 14m high. Furthermore, this is the only known temple dedicated to the god Wiracocha, creator of the universe.
La Raya: Point that will mark the middle of our trip as well as being the highest point of the journey -4335m. What’s more, the impressive views here will allow us to admire the rugged landscape at this altitude; full of high peaks, many of which are snowy, we will also observe herds of llamas, alpacas and vicuñas. This is the geographical border between 2 cultures, the Quechua of Cusco and the Aymara of Puno.
Pucara: This ceremonial center is one of the oldest and most important in the entire altiplano, well known for its lithic structures and tombs.

A full day of excursion by boat on Lake Titicaca, where we will visit the ancient culture of the Uros and its floating islands. Likewise, the villagers will give us a short introduction about the manufacture and maintenance of floating islands. In addition, we will learn about the coexistence and existence of the population and how they have adapted to their living conditions.
Continuing we arrive at the island of Amantani, here we will meet with the Quechua families who will offer us a traditional lunch and a humble but cozy accommodation. In the evening, after dinner, the community members will host a small welcome party for us.

Continuing with our itinerary of the Spiritual Retreat with Wachuma 11d / 10n, in the morning we will visit 2 ancient pre-Inka temples, Pachatata and Pachamama (father and mother cosmos), which have been connected since ancient times with reproduction and fertility ceremonies. The ceremonial center of Pachatata stands in honor of the pre-Inca civilization that flourished at 4,115 meters above sea level.
We will also observe the daily lifestyle of the local people. In the afternoon we will return to the city of Puno and spend the night there.

On our way to Amaru Muru we will make an interesting stop along the way. This is how we will visit an old colonial city famous for its ancient fertility temple, known in Quechua as “Inca Uyo”. This place houses around 20 large phallic statues that denote the temple as an ancient fertility ritual site.
Continuing through the Valley of the Spirits we will arrive at Amaru Muru, this is one of the most sacred and energetically charged places that exist in the area of Lake Titicaca. Likewise, the site includes an enigmatic altar, 5 meters high, in solid rock that is known to be a portal in other dimensions, where we can honor our personal growth and our rebirth into our new life. That is why in this place we will perform our last Wachuma ceremony.

This day, according to your flight time, we will make a short trip from Puno to the Juliaca airport. (End of the tour: Spiritual Retreat with Wachuma 11d / 10n).
