Cusco Sacred Valley Tour - Sacred Valley Half Day Tour

Cusco Sacred Valley Tour is a popular tour in Cusco. Accompanied by a local tour guide, on this Sacred Valley half day tour you will be visiting the prominent archeological sites of the valley that played a major role during the Inca empire.

This gives a complete and a detailed orientation and is ideal to experience before your trip to Machu Picchu.

Pisac:

The tour begins with a long drive out of the city of Cusco to the town of Pisac. This is one of the iconic sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The archaeology site here is massive and is just second to Machu Picchu.

It houses a series of agricultural terraces as farming was the prime source of income to Incas. The complex is also home to some Inca ruins.

Here, we will also be visiting the traditional Pisac market. Although the open air market is set every weekend, there are staples lined on small pavements. You will be able to buy souvenirs, savour some traditional meals and beverages here.

Urubamba:

Often regarded as the heart of the Sacred Valley of Incas, Urubamba is a little warmer. Here we will be stopping at a local restaurant for buffet lunch.

Ollantaytambo:

The iconic village of Ollantaytambo is an example of the advancement of Incas town planning. It is snuggled between two hills, each houses an archaeological complex.

The complex of Ollantaytambo was regarded as the supreme site with high religious value. This sacred site turned to a battle ground when the Spanish tried to conquer Ollantaytambo.

Now, this is the place where travellers board trains for their trip to Machu Picchu and Inca Trail.

Chinchero:

Chinchero is often overlooked by tourists. This charming little village is home to a white washed church and  a farming terrace. The church was originally an Inca palace of Pachacutec. On conquest, the Spanish rulers demolished the palace and built the church on its remains.

Among all sites of the Sacred Valley, Chinchero has the most fertile soil.

We offer the Sacred Valley tour both in private tour and as a small group tour.
