Itinerary

Full Day Vinicunca Peru Tour - Rainbow Mountain day tour from Cusco

We will begin the full day tour from Cusco by picking you up from your hotel at 0400 AM. Then in our private transport, we will be embarking on a journey through the South Valley of Cusco to Cusipata. Here we will be serving breakfast.

After a typical local breakfast, we will be driving you to the trail head. We will be stopping at a control point before reaching the trail head. Once at the trailhead, our guide will brief you on the safety measures to trek to Rainbow Mountain.

We will begin the two and a half hours trek to the summit. The trek is somewhat challenging as it is at a high altitude. We highly recommend you to spend at least three days in Cusco and acclimatise to avoid altitude sickness.

You will be passing through some high altitude farms. Here you will see many llamas and alpacas grazing. If you are not sure about hiking, you can jump on a horseback for an additional cost.

Once at the summit, our guide will be explaining the mountain’s prominence to locals. As we will be stopping here for a long time so you can immerse in the enchanting view, you can hike further to the red valley.

Once you have had your fill of the captivating views of the Andes, we will start hiking back to the trail head. From here we will be driving you to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we will be driving back to Cusco. We will be reaching at around 0630 PM.
