Full Day Vinicunca Peru Tour is one of our most sold one day trips from Cusco. Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain is one of the unmissable attractions in Cusco. Infact, to most, it seconds the list of places to visit after Machu Picchu. Rainbow Mountain day tour from Cusco attracts over 800 travellers a day.
The multi-colored mountain is a part of the Ausangate Mountain range in the Peruvian Andes. It was covered with snow and was discovered in 2016 as the colours appeared when the snow started melting. It immediately got all the deserving attention and soon became a popular tourist destination.
The trek offers amazing views of the snow capped mighty Ausangate Peak. To locals, this is a sacred peak and a prime nature entity. On a clear day, it dominates the southern skyline of Cusco. It is the highest mountain in the region at 6384 metres above sea level.
Many remote native communities live on the foothill of the mountain. They are untouched by modernity. Their main source of income is through farming and grazing. The full day trip to Rainbow Mountain of Vinicunca offers an insight to their way of life and their age old traditions and customs.
